Helen Keller International (HKI)* is a nonprofit Organization Established in 1915 that is committed to preventing blindness and reducing malnutrition. HKI is currently working in 22 countries in Africa, Asia, and United States. In Indonesia, HKI was established at early 1970s. HKI works with governments, communities, schools, and universities to improve access to education, eye health, and nutrition for vulnerable populations.
HKI-Indonesia is requesting the immediate assistance of a programmer who can develop a MySQL database with a PHP interface in order to enter data from a survey of individuals. The database will require password protections for data entry staff. In addition, HKI would like for data entry staff to access the database via the internet through a web browser.

HKI would contract the services of the programmer for up to one month.
Responsibilities
- Develop database for individual-level survey data
- Create a system of password protections for ensuring the security of the data
- Participate in the ongoing development of an application that meets our needs.
- Deliver new functionality and change requests for application.
- Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
- Develop database-driven Web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing.
- Develop external Web portals allowing users to input and retrieve accurate information.
- Create system for reporting of data.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience.
- Minimum two years PHP development experience.
- Troubleshoot issues with web server, database, security, network, and web technologies
- Create and enhance in-house tools to manage web site operations
- Write new reporting, maintenance, and test automation tools in PHP
- Web, graphic and usability design experience.
- PHP, mySQL and content management integration.
- Customer and end-user support of our online products.
- Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience with hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- The ability to communicate and teach non-technical users is a must.
