Headquartered in New York City, HKI offers programs in 21 countries in Africa and Asia as well as in the United States. The organization combats the causes and consequences of blindness and malnutrition by establishing programs based on evidence and research. Each year, their programs directly benefit millions of people, and children are a primary concern.
SUMMARY OF PROGRAM:
HKI is addressing uncorrected refractive error in Indonesia. HKI is increasing the capacity of lay screeners to accurately detect refractive error in adolescent boys and girls, and adults; bring the provision of eye glasses into schools to facilitate delivery and uptake; examine innovative models for bringing vision screening services directly into communities; and improve the quality of eye health program delivery through research.
HKI’s Refractive Error program provides a unique school-based delivery mechanism which includes screening for visual acuity and refraction and a free pair of eyeglasses to urban poor students in Jakarta. Students who have more severe eye problems are referred for further testing and follow-up. The program provides training on early detection of visual problems to teachers, parents and health workers, and raises community awareness about the importance of good vision.

DUTIES :
- To conduct data collection through one on one survey
- To Input survey data into database
QUALIFICATION :
- Bachelor degree
- Have experience with health projects
- Are available to work for one month available immediately
- Can work some nights and weekends for surveys and
- Have experience with collecting data through surveys
- Period of contract is one month
