Vacancy: Project Leader for BMU Lesser Sunda

The Nature Conservancy is a conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the position of:

PROJECT LEADER FOR BMU LESSER SUNDA

The Project Leader for BMU Lesser Sunda (Project Leader) provides strategic, technical and financial leadership for the implementation of the BMU Lesser Sunda grant. In close collaboration and/or coordination with relevant IMP staff/programs especially in the Lesser Sunda region, s/he will focus on supporting effective implementation of project activities and ensuring that all project deliverables are produced in high quality and timely manner. S/he will maintain contact/good relationship with partners and other relevant parties in support of smooth project implementation on the ground. In the project structure, s/he will be supported by a deputy or a coordinator who will be mostly responsible for day-to-day financial and administrative parts of the project.

The project leader will be responsible for the overall project management including planning, tracking/ monitoring implementation as well as timely writing up, production and submission of both programmatic and financial reports to donor (BMU). S/he will also need to be highly responsive to any project-related requests from donor and TNC management. S/he will need to keep close coordination with his/her supervisor when communicating this project with BMU.

The project leader will be based in Bali or Kupang or Jakarta with very frequent travel to the Lesser Sunda areas, e.g. Bali, NTT and NTB provinces and Jakarta. S/he will report to Director of TNC Indonesia Marine Program.

Requirements:

· BA/BS degree, Master degree preferred, and 10-12 years experiences in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Knowledge and experience in large project management, including familiarity of project cycle, results-based management, and supportive of learning process/documentation and knowledge management
· Managing time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results
· Communicating clearly via written and spoken English
· Demonstrated experience in donor relations
· Successful experience in developing, directing and managing multiple projects and objectives
· Successful experience in partnership development (partners, community, government, etc.) including extensive networking with high-level conservation contacts; political savvy
· Proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
