International NGO seeks a *Senior Program Officer*. The primary responsibilities will be to Coordinate and implement assigned projects and programs of IFES projects in Indonesia. The position is Jakarta based and full time. Anticipated start in February 2013.
IFES is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. *IFES promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil societies, governance and transparency.* Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries. Currently we are seeking *Senior Program Officer* to help project implementation in IFES Indonesia.
*Scope of Work: *
- Liaise closely with members and officials of Indonesia’s electoral institutions and support ongoing working relationships;
- Coordinate the planning, administration and logistics for special events undertaken by project team in the area of election management trainings, workshops or other events;
- Manage day-to-day project activities in an efficient and effective manner;
- Coordinate and implement assigned projects and programs aimed at increasing electoral information through mass media and other direct forms of communications;
- Coordinate electoral information activities with civil society actors and partner organizations within the public and private sectors as required;
- Report regularly on project activities to the Project Manager;
*Requirements: *
- At least 5 years or comparable of experience of working in an international environment, ideally with significant experience in implementing democratic development projects and international program management;
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and oral;
- A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Ability to take initiative and work within tight deadlines;
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, Excel, Internet) required;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions; and
- A degree in political science or related field.
