Save the Children Job Vacancy: Engineer Assistant, Donggala - Central Sulawesi

ENGINEER ASSISTANT – Central Sulawesi (Donggala)

This position is expected to provide extensive technical support to beneficiaries to improve knowledge on safer shelter construction and infrastructure establishment. S/he needs to visit working communities to provide technical assistance to construct semi-permanent shelters, Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS), retrofitting classrooms, repair/build school latrine and provide clean water for the community.

Skills and Experiences

Essential:

• Education background in Civil Engineering/Architecture
• Basic knowledge on handling AutoCAD, SAP, MS word and excel.
• High skill in preparing Bill of Quantity (BOQ), cost estimate and work schedule.
• Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including traveling at short notice and for extended periods of time.

Desirable:

• Candidates from local/national.
• Familiar with infrastructure construction and community-based approach
• Familiar with retrofitting and minor repair

The Organization
Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a Member. As Member, Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle-income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. The success of the pilot phase will set Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.
