Position Overview
The Communication Coordinator (CC) is responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communication strategies including its marketing strategies and activities for internal and external relations that consistently articulate Rikolto’s vision and mission. She/he will have close coordination with the Rikolto International communication department to contribute to the global strategy of Rikolto according to the program context in Indonesia.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conceptualizing and leading the marketing and communication strategies and initiatives to support the program’s goals. This person will work closely with the Rikolto team, its partners, and other required stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing an annual marketing and communication plan that engages diverse audiences and leads to measurable action.
- Managing the production of various marketing and communication materials and ensuring that these materials are distributed through a wide range of Rikolto communication channels such as social media, website, LinkedIn, MailChimp, and other strategic channels.
- Managing and reviewing communication materials (press releases, policy statements, talking points, and speeches), liaising with journalists; providing response to media inquiries to increase visibility.
- Regarding communication materials prepared together with other staff members, She/he should ensure the materials fit the target audience, the content is in line with Rikolto’s vision, and rewrite if needed, correct typos, spelling mistakes, poor layout (including pictures and graphs) and proofreading. This is not limited to contribute for the copy-editing program document as necessary.
- Initiating and managing special events, campaigns, and initiatives to increase visibility and support organizational goals.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of communication activities performed by staff, partners, and third parties, and ensuring that these materials are in line with Rikolto’s communication guideline.
- Performing other marketing communication-related tasks on an ad-hoc basis.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing and communications with strong results, private sector/agency experience is an advantage
- Degree in Communication, Media, Journalism, Political Sciences, Rural Development, English and/or Indonesian Language or Literature (or equivalent)
- Proven track record in leading, developing, and implementing marketing and communications strategies, including experience in managing social media outreach
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Good interpersonal, and presentation skills in delivering complex ideas clearly and in an engaging manner in Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Having skills in writing, copy-editing, and proofreading documents for publication including articles, press releases, website; attention to details and being consistent in both content and style;
- Familiarity with website management, interactive design, and social media platform
- Strong time management skills and flexibility to accommodate multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player
