Where the country objective has been defined as “to identify and facilitate the removal of obstacles that prevent children from enjoying their rights and participating fully in Indonesian society”. The organisation’s purpose is to “strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls”. This goal will be achieved by providing technical support and implementing quality programs and projects through partnership. An effective and efficient communications strategy is a must for Plan Indonesia to share the outcomes of these projects to influence different actors, specially state authorities and to position Plan’s profile within and outside at different levels – starting from community, sub district, district to national, regional and international levels. SAFE seas Project Manager (Jakarta)

Dimensions of the Role
The Project Manager oversees the overall implementation of the results-driven project in Indonesia which cover national and provincial level, in which the selected provinces are Central Java (Tegal) and North Sulawesi (Bitung) in collaboration with implementing partner with the specific roles including:
  • Ensuring effective and efficient management of the overall programme, which includes maintaining constructive relationships with key stakeholders and the donor in country
  • Driving strategic conversations around advocacy and impact, thereby contributing to sustainable programme outcomes
  • Ensuring effective project management by maintaining the delivery of appropriate technical, operational and financial outputs, while tracking the project progress through monitoring, evaluation and reporting;
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with project partners and Plan International United States through effective communication, consultation and reporting;
  • Aligning the projects implementation with Plan International principles of safeguarding of children and young people and gender transformative approach.
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential
  • Undergraduate degree in policy administration, social fields or other related field in the promotion of decent work and prevention of forced labours and person in trafficking
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, including budget management, monitoring and evaluation and quality project reporting
  • Minimum of 3 years experienced in policy advocacy and campaign project.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in working with Government agencies/offices and Private Sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in international development tools: program logic, Monitoring, and community empowerment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of domestic laws related to labour and human trafficking
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gender transformative approach, gender-based violence, child rights, and inclusion
  • Affinity to work with and for young people on economic empowerment
  • Understanding of Indonesia Government policies, laws, and institutions in relation to fishing industries
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support staff
  • Ability to function efficiently and effectively with little day-to-day supervision
  • Demonstrated skills problem solving and people’s management.
Desirable
  • Master’s Degree in Related Field
  • Have existing networks with Private Sectors in fishing industries
  • Have experience in organising public campaign
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and youth
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation
