SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, well-being and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions
Currently, SurfAid works in four areas in Nias (North Sumatera), Mentawai (West Sumatera), West Sumba (East Nusa Tenggara), and Bima (West Nusa Tenggara).We believe that documenting success stories from the program sites is essential part of a program implementation. It is not only capturing the impact of the programs, but also understanding the phenomenon / perspectives of our beneficiaries. Thus, SurfAid is able to learn and design more impactful program in the future. Additionally, good publicity, particularly in the national and international newspapers is also seen as an important aspect to introduce the good work as well as part of SurfAid accountability in implementing the programs.
To capture some success stories through the lenses of an outsider / external contributor
SurfAid is looking for a “STORY WRITER”.
Requirement:
- Experience in working in Indonesia, particularly in the development sector or relevant field for at least 3 years;
- Experience in journalistic or impact stories writing;
- Familiar with participatory approaches or other data collection methods, thus the information/impact stories can be gathered accordingly;
- Experience working in isolated islands/rural areas or location with limited facilities;
- Good English (written and verbal);
- Able to work independently and to be responsible for some of the logistical arrangement themselves;
- Able to show some the examples of the impact stories.
