The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian organization whose mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the Geneva Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It directs and coordinates the international activities by the Movement in armed conflicts and other situations of violence.

Main responsibilities
A remuneration, based on the ICRC’s standard, will be provided to the Intern for her/his service on a monthly basis during the internship period.

COMMUNICATION UNIT
Main responsibilities
- Supports the Communication Unit in the delegation for implementing the day to day communication programs including but not limited to:
- Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Head of Communications, provides assistance in monitoring the media and social media report on the ICRC priority issues
- Provides assistance to the Communication Unit in creating social media content
- Supports in compiling and updating database of images, video, and media contact.
- Provides assistance to the delegation’s production process (short film, printed products, photos)
- Provides assistance to the preparation of event
- The Intern shall contribute at least one (1) article on ICRC-related issues to the Delegation’s blog during the internship period. Details on this particular task will be discussed with his/her Supervisor in the briefing period.
- Understanding the composition, roles, and functions of the different members of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Applies the ICRC’s Code of Conduct and Security Rules at all times.
- Subject to approval of his/her direct supervisor and for the purpose of exposure, the Intern may also support other units in the Delegation when necessary.
- Performs other tasks and duties when necessary.
- Last semester or fresh graduate student with maximum of one year working experience of social science, law, communication, international relations, political studies or design background.
- Active user of social media.
- Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
- Willing to work full time during the assignment period.
- Having skill in photography, videography and basic design is an asset
- Write a maximum 500 words of essay stating why you are interested with the internship program and explain why you are the best candidate and how could you contribute to the work of the ICRC.
- Please mention your social media accounts in the CV.
