KOMPAK Program
KOMPAK is an Australia-Indonesia government partnership supporting the Government of Indonesia's efforts in reducing poverty through improvements in basic service delivery and creating opportunities for work. KOMPAK focuses its efforts on three result areas:
  • Supporting Local Governments and Service Units to better address the needs of basic service users;
  • Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from improved village governance; and
  • Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from increased opportunities for employment and economic development.
The Opportunity
The Research Analyst will provide support for the analytical needs of the KOMPAK Research and Evaluation Team. The Research Analyst will undertake research and data analysis related to KOMPAK supported themes: Public financial management, social accountability, civil registration and vital statistics, local economic development and basic services. The Research Analyst is expected to support the data management, writing knowledge product as well as presenting analysis results.

Key Duties
  • Conduct research, identify problems/issues and prepare relevant knowledge products
  • Process and present information related to KOMPAK themes, sourced from BPS microdata including: SUSENAS, SAKERNAS, PODES and SUPAS
  • Manage, process and analyze information of public financial data from various levels of government (province, district and village) in different formats
  • Analyze responses from KOMPAK primary surveys
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are submitted in a timely manner and of high quality
  • Provide on-going advice to KOMPAK Research and Evaluation team as required
  • Coordinate with KOMPAK Research and Evaluation team and with other KOMPAK consultants in delivering the work

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor in the socio-economic field or other relevant fields
  • At least 5 years of experience in conducting quantitative research for social development
  • Ability of quantitative data processing, using statistical software (SPSS, R, STATA)
  • Ability to analyse large-scale quantitative data from various sources and in different formats; including to undertake complex analysis, articulate issues and recommend solutions
  • Good understanding of BPS microdata and local government financial document (province, district and village)
  • Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Proven track record of producing high quality written deliverables
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Understanding of gender equality and social inclusion issues
