Ipas International Job Vacancy: Community Access Advisor, Jakarta

Yayasan Inisiatif Perubahan Akses menuju Sehat (IPAS) Indonesia, is a local foundation works as affiliation of Ipas global so that women and girls have improved sexual and reproductive health and rights through enhanced access to and use of safe abortion and contraceptive care as per Indonesia’s Law. We believe in a world where every woman and girl has the right and ability to determine her own sexuality and reproductive health.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Community Access Advisor, based in Jakarta Office. Position is open for Indonesian nationality only.

The Community Access Advisor provides technical leadership, guidance and managing a team and Community Access component in the organization.

The Community Access Advisor will support Yayasan Inisiatif Perubahan Akses menuju Sehat (IPAS) Indonesia in developing accessibility and community engagement strategies to enhance access to reproductive and sexual health services for girls and women in supported program. S/he will lead efforts to increase girls and women self-autonomy and self-determination, expand access within communities to information, support and services while assisting to address barriers at individual, interpersonal, community, organizational and policy level.

The Community Access Advisor collaborates with Sr. Health Systems Advisor and partners to ensure community access to quality of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) services, including contraceptives and comprehensive post abortion care service delivery in country through advocacy to improve the service, demand creation, reduction of stigma among service providers and community, value clarification on safe termination of pregnancy, provider and community trainings, social & behavior change communication assessment, data collection and donor reporting.

This position reports directly to Yayasan IPAS Indonesia’ Head of Board of Management/Director and is part of senior technical team member.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides technical and programmatic strategic direction;
  2. Support Yayasan Inisiatif Perubahan Akses menuju Sehat (IPAS) Indonesia in developing and/adjusting technical strategies related to Community Access and engagement, to address emerging needs from the field to reduce unsafe abortion and to prevent unwanted pregnancy;
  3. Collaborates with other technical Advisors and partners to design and to ensure smooth implementation of strategic planning; as well as to identify needs for new program/project development in Indonesia
  4. Developing community-based advocacy strategy and planning to improve enabling environment for post abortion service delivery;
  5. Participating in the development of strategy in reducing stigma among different key stakeholders, identifying assessment needs, implement VCAT workshop and training for stakeholders, selecting trainers/facilitators and conducting trainings;
  6. Lead provision of technical assistance to partners and stakeholders in planning and program implementation of Community Access’ strategies;
  7. Responsible for technical management and monitoring of subcontractor agreement, by ensuring development of responsive proposal and contract, and implementation based on contracts; including select short-term consultants and other resources to support program implementation;
  8. Develop networking and partnership with relevant key national and provincial stakeholders
  9. Forecast expenditures for budgeting purposes
  10. Participate and contribute to drafting donor proposals, presentations and reports as required;
  11. Representing Yayasan (IPAS) Indonesia and its affiliate in local, regional and global professional meetings and conferences;
  12. Support the resource mobilization efforts to implement the in-country program;
  13. Performing all duties as assigned by the Head of Board of Management / Director.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a public health, social sciences and or other related field. Master’s degree in the above fields will be an added advantage
  2. +8 years of experience working in Sexual and Reproductive Health field’s, health behavior change and advocacy
  3. Project management experience
  4. Demonstrated experience in working with policy maker at local and national level with with proven policy advising capacity
  5. Strong management skills, including experience in project administration, supervision of program staff, and communication among global and national staff and partners.
  6. Strong written and spoken communications skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural, team-based global environment.
  8. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
