Title: Project Officer
Duty Station: Jakarta, Indonesia
Report to: Program Manager
Duration: 1 (one) year start in early 2020.

Background
Hivos is seeking an experienced Project Officer to provide services for an upcoming Hivos’ project on pluralism, tolerance and education. The work location for this assignment is in Jakarta. This will be a long-term opportunity. The start date for this position is early 2020. Only Indonesian National can apply.

Aim of the job
The Project Officer (PO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, including planning, implementing and monitoring according to the following area of function:
  1. Project Management: Maintain high quality documentation and coordination mechanism throughout the project. This includes budget tracking, and ensuring quarterly budget expenditure is in line as per Hivos and Donor guidelines.
  2. Grant management: Disburse and monitor grant for activities managed by partners, ensure scheduled payment, spending, compliance and reporting.
  3. Partners Relation: Maintaining the project objective through coordination with implementing partners (partners and associates) at the national and subnational level in order to achieve the highest quality standard of the project delivery.
  4. Capacity Development: Identify the needs of the partner, associates and target groups and provide tailor made capacity development for advocacy and public engagement through research, training and exchange.
  5. Implement activities under Hivos component, particularly on network building, capacity building and campaign.
Roles and responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities for the Project Officer are, but not limited to the following duties:
  1. Support the successful implementation of the project’s technical tasks and related events. Such tasks may include seminars/conferences, trainings, meetings, presentations, evaluations and assessments, and other tasks. Items to be arranged may include participants confirmation; travel and hotel arrangements; preparation of materials; and report writing;
  2. Work closely with program admin on administrative and financial matters related to program implementation;
  3. Support and monitor the implementation of the project baseline and endline researches, including monitor progress of the activities to measure performance and results;
  4. Assist Project Manager in monitoring detailed implementation plan for grantees and ensure it consistently carried out by implementing partners in proper way, ensure integration of inclusion principles within the program
  5. Maintain external relations with regional and national stakeholders;
  6. Contribute to the annual programming and program reporting;
  7. Carry out other duties as may be assigned related to project activities.
Knowledge and experiences
Level: Mid-level
  1. Relevant academic level of working and thinking. Understand the issue of youth and peace building is preferable
  2. Relevant work experience: 3 to 5 years.
  3. Experience working in project implementation and working in teams.
  4. Expertise in a relevant sector, theme or region and/or methodology (co-creation, social innovation).
  5. Work experience in an international environment.
