WCS-IP is currently a sub-contractor for USAID-SEA (Sustainable Ecosystem Advance) which located in North Maluku. To maximize its impact, USAID-SEA needs to encourage people within this area to practice the sustainable fisheries and increase their knowledge on the Marine Protected area as well as increase incentives of marine conservation for local people. In order to ensure that, a Sustainable Practice Officer is needed to advance the WCS-IP & USAID-SEA conservation agenda through targeted, innovative development of incentives and ecotourism that benefit and catalyze change in key constituencies. The Livelihood Officer will be responsible for facilitate development of incentives mechanism to support effective management of MPA as well as providing benefit for the key stakeholders through sustainable tourism, sustainable fisheries or other potential sustainable economic activities.
The Livelihood Officer will directly report to the North Maluku Deputy Leader and coordinate closely and significantly on daily basis with Coordinator, support(s) as well as on regular basis to Project Leader, Program Manager and advisor(s) of the WCS Indonesia Marine team.
The Livelihood Officer is responsible for providing technical support to SEA Project field team and targeted community group on initiating and enhancing sustainable livelihood that support conservation effort in the area. The role is including but not limited to: develop livelihood concept, implementation roadmap, engagement strategy with community and partners, monitoring activity implementation, development of ToR of activities, documentation of project outputs, development technical report from the field work, assist communication and coordination with partners, and other project related activities. The Officer will be providing these services in an effective and efficient manner to ensure the project target and implementation are maintained in an effective and efficient manner.
