Johns Hopkins Center for Communications Program (JHCCP) Job Vacancy: Junior Software Developer, Jakarta

Johns Hopkins Center for Communications Program (JHCCP), a not-for-profit human development organization, is a part of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health within the Department of Health, Behavior and Society.

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Junior Software Developer. This position is based in Jakarta.

BACKGROUND:
JHCCP manages the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded “Reinvigorating Family Planning in Indonesia” project, known as MyChoice Indonesia.  The MyChoice is designed to contribute to the Government of Indonesia’s Family Planning goal to increase the nations modern Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (mCPR) by overcoming identified barriers and creating a consumer-driven environment where every woman can choose and have access to the right contraceptive method given her life stage.

This position will be a member of the Supply Chain Management team. The Contraceptive Supply Chain Management component will support demand generation and access to FP services by ensuring the availability of range of contraceptive methods at Districts and the network of FP Service Delivery Points (SDPs) within the selected districtsJHCCP works with BKKBN and its SCM stakeholders at the Provincial and District level to ensure that all SDPs at the District level maintain a required level of Contraceptive stock for range of modern contraceptive methods.

The Junior Software developer is member of the development team responsible for the maintenance, development and release of project software. The software products support various supply chain functions including inventory management and distribution planning, warehouse operations and data analytics for monitoring supply chain performance. The software engineer works closely with the project manager and other staff in order to understand business problems and develop software solutions. The position requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with project manager and other project staff to understand user requirements and build appropriate software, the specific Junior Software Developer’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Design, develop, test and document programs that meet user requirements.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Support and maintain deployed software. Trouble shoot as needed.
  • Review and analyze product analytics and prepare and submit reports as requested.
  • Tailor and deploy software tools, processes and metrics
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in relevant discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Science) desirable; has ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to work effectively as a part of a team, and, to document requirements and specifications; has experience/ability to develop software in PHP and in Kotlin, and, experience with distributed version control (git); has excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, PostgreSQL; has knowledge working with web frameworks and language (Angular/ReactUI preferable); has familiarity with Docker deployment (Preferable), Nginx (Preferable), and with software release processes; and, fluency in written and verbal English is required.
