We are an International Civil Society Organization concerned with social and economic justice for working people. We are a membership-based organization independent of governments, political parties, religious organizations, and companies. Our members are people working in the food, agriculture, fisheries, hospitality, and tourism industries. Our education and training programs are designed to assist local community organizations in promoting environmental and social sustainability as well as poverty alleviation through sustainable employment. We are strongly committed to gender equality and the promotion of women's rights.

Our Regional Organization in Asia supports our members to achieve economic and social justice in several countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia through education and training, action-oriented research, and workers' self-organizing in their workplaces and in their communities.

We are seeking young, dynamic and committed people for three positions in our Regional Organization in Southeast Asia:

Assistant Communications Officer
The Assistant Communications Officer will mainly assist with communication with members and member organizations, as well as liaising with external organizations. Communications responsibilities include web stories, developing the regional blog, reporting on activities, and disseminating accurate and reliable information through social media.

Assistant Research Officer
The Assistant Research officer will undertake field research involving interviews, surveys, and mapping, and assist in writing research reports. Research will include industry trends, company-specific case studies and themes such as automation and gender.

Assistant Education Officer
The Assistant Education Officer will help in the design and development of educational materials based on effective communication with target groups and interaction with member organizations. Responsibilities include assisting police officers with training seminars and workshops.

Candidates for the positions of Assistant Research Officer and Assistant Education Officer must have Bahasa Indonesia as their native language and be able to translate from English to Indonesian and Indonesian to English.

Recommended qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field
  • Excellent command of English (writing, speaking and listening)
  • Very good computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and pleasant personality
  • Able to cope with multiple tasks and able to work under pressure
  • Willingness to travel overseas at regular intervals
  • Openness to meeting new people
  • A strong interest in fairness and social justice
  • Respect for diversity and non-discrimination
  • Experience in working with communities or civil society organizations is welcome
  • Fresh graduates with a strong commitment to social justice are welcome to apply
