Manager of Accounting

Job Summary

This manager provides leadership and oversight to the accounting team to maintain Compassion's general ledger, work closely with internal clients across the organization to answer financial questions and provide advice on proper accounting, conduct accounting research and analysis, review and interpret historical transactional activity, and complete the month-end and year-end close process. The primary purpose of this position is to provide full, daily management for assigned professional staff. This responsibility includes hiring, discipline, and termination, as well as, coaching, performance management, assigning, checking, and approving work to satisfy department objectives. The incumbent will ensure accomplishment of department responsibilities based on oversight from senior management, following established practices, organizational strategy, department guidelines, and within approved budget.

Specific Requirements

• Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty
• Bachelor's Degree of Accounting, Finance, Management Information System, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Maximize 48 years old.
• Certification in one or more appropriate senior-level technical disciplines from nationally or internationally recognized organization, or similar credential – CPA or CA.
• Have experiences work at Public Accountant
• Leads professional staff responsible to serve internal customers, answering financial reporting questions, explaining accounting principles, advising on proper recording of transactions, and informing others of financial policies and procedures. This includes partnering in problem-solving for both procedural and technical issues.
