Plan International Indonesia Job Vacancy: Logistic Officer, Palu - Central Sulawesi

Plan International Indonesia Foundation (YPII) is responding to the Palu Earthquake and Tsunami disaster on an Orange 2 alert level. The approved Emergency Response Plan (ERP)  ”Meeting The Spesific Needs of Girls and Boys in the Tsunami Affected Areas in Central Sulawesi Island” is for 11months period and will focusing GIRLS AND BOYS PROTECTION AND EDUCATION IN EMERGENCIES. YPII will be committed to better understand the varied needs of girls and boys, men and women, and have those needs and suggestion for responding as a core component to any sectors design and implementation. In addition, YPII’s response will be committed to reaching the most vulnerable families by emphasizing the needs of women and girls. Recognizing that women and girls are vulnerable and disproportionately suffer from various forms of abuse and exploitation, the program will seek to actively engage them in program design, planning, implementation, and monitoring.

The Emergency Response Plan (ERP),  is looking for dynamic staff to be based in Palu for the position:

Logistic Officer

Key TasksEnsure the field preparation for all distribution process together with respective Community leaders and YPII’s community OrganiserEnsure the collection and validation of beneficiaries data segregate by sex, age and disability prior to distribution process. Ensure gender responsive feedback mechanism are used and collected during ditribution process. Ensure the feedback mechanism result are recorded in timely manner and shared with Information Management Coordination after distribution process. Ensure appropriate documentation (photos, videos, stories) of distribution process in close coordination with Deputy ERM. Supervising YPII’s Community OrganisersProvide support to Senior Distrbution Officer  to ensure timely and appropriate filing system for all distribution process (distribution record, beneficiaries trackers.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives: Experience of providing significant to supply chain implementation within emergency response settings. Experience and knowledge of humanitarian supply chain management. Good negotiating and influencing skills to achieve operational outcomes, applying a breadth of approaches, styles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes. Good people management & interpersonal skills (role model in motivating, developing and supporting others). Effective communicating and collaborating across cultural, geographical and structural boundaries, engaging positively and constructively with colleagues.Project management and organisational skills, results oriented and comfortable making decisions and taking appropriate risksAbility to build and maintain strong working internal relationships. Positive, constructive and solutions focused, comfortable working with high energy and positivity even in the face of challenging situations. Demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to humanitarian principles, humanitarian response work and child protection standards. Demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, gender and diversity.

Physical Environment and Demands: Extensive travel, sometimes to hazardous environments. Periods of intense work at all times of day and night.

Level of Contact with Children: Mid contactOccasional direct interaction with children when at the IDPs camps/evacuation centre.

Physical location: Based in Palu.
