Position Title: Hepatitis Program Officer
Report to: Hepatitis Program Manager
Based: Jakarta, Indonesia
Overview:
Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton and Ira C. Magaziner, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (“CHAI”) is a global health organization committed to saving lives, reducing the burden of disease and strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world.
The program officer will support Hepatitis Program spesifically for the implementation and scale-up of CHAI’s hepatitis B program in Indonesia. The officer will be based in Jakarta and will support the Indonesia Ministry of Health to strengthen and scale hepatitis B vaccination and testing programs among CHAI supported provinces.
The officer will also support the development of programmatic tools (costing, forecasting, supply planning, M&E) that will be required to scale the program. Extensive travel within the provinces will be required. The program officer will report to the team Program Manager.

Program Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and administrative support to Program Manager to ensure smooth and successful Hepatitis program development and implementation.
- Identify gaps in public hepatitis B vaccination and testing programs, and work closely with government partners (Provincial and District Health Office, Primary Health centre and other related local government bodies), expert panel, hepatitis B working group, and others international partners to identify solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to operationalize and implement identified solutions, as agreed on by local partners.
- Ensure effective communication with key local partners and internal program team to improve coordination and planning.
- Facilitate monitoring, evaluation and analysis for continuous program adaptation and improvement.
- Ensure the documentation of activities and outcomes in order to create replicable models and policy advocacy documents.
- Perform basic finance and admin functions as needed under the guidance of the CHAI Finance team.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager, Senior Program Manager and/or Program Director.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least medical doctor with public health preferable or a quantitative discipline.
- At least five years of work experience within a private or non-profit international organization
- Strong written and oral communication skills in Indonesian and English, with the ability to prepare compelling presentations
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience working in excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including technical information regarding hepatitis b
- Experience working in an unpredictable environment, with an ability to quickly adapt to new situations
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly and influence stakeholders
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and in Indonesian
- Experience in healthcare and knowledge of the Indonesian Ministry of Health is an advantage
