The Nature Conservancy Job Vacancies: 3 Positions based In Jakarta

We currently have several openings for:

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF PHILANTHROPY (ADOP) – PRIVATE PHILANTHROPY
The Associate Director of Philanthropy is responsible for managing a portfolio of qualified donors and building strong relationships.  Her/his responsibility includes increasing funding from corporations, foundations, institutions and high net-worth individuals (minimum of 60% focus on HNWI and 40% focus on corporations/ foundations/ institutions and others) through effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.  S/he understands and applies complex principles of developing donor strategies and builds strong relationships with a portfolio of new donors and prospects. The Associate Director of Philanthropy provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition and increase future giving. S/he involves and engages appropriate partners in the field and at the Worldwide Office, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues and/or concerns, and addresses questions as needed. S/he is capable of featuring the programs of the Conservancy in detailed terms and can confidently discuss legacy giving opportunities. The ADOP understands project budgets and may build proposal budgets utilizing this knowledge. S/he will develop a referral network as needed and may manage formal and/or informal networks of volunteers and/or supporters. S/he will be required to use the Conservancy’s donor database and may develop proposals.

Duties include:

Development of Pipeline for Corporate and Private Philanthropy
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, steward and retain qualified prospects and donors. Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 qualified relationships, and apply a moves management approach to the portfolio, with a custom cultivation strategy for each donor.  Time allocation is 70% for cultivation, 20% for solicitation and 10% for other projects as directed by Director of Development and/ or Country Director.
  • Establish a strategic and systematic focus on closing single and multi‐year commitments from high net-worth individuals.
  • Strategically engage board members, organization executives and current donors in peer prospect identification, visits, and closings.
  • Routinely network with corporate executives and interact with high‐net worth individuals for the purpose of cultivating personal relationships and developing corporate giving and personal giving. Collaborate with Program colleagues when corporate and private giving interests are expressed.
  • Work collaboratively to analyze portfolios and strategize upgrades and to cultivate individual gifts from corporate partner executives.
  • Demonstrate a keen sense of curiosity for donors – seeking to “crack the code” of what compels each donor to give substantially by asking the right questions – and able to personally adapt as needed to meet the needs of donors.
  • Successfully align partner interests with TNC’s strategy and demonstrate a strong value proposition. Convincingly articulate the unique selling proposition.
Closing Philanthropy Gift
  • Responsible for closing Philanthropy gifts of US$ 1 million or equivalent in Indonesia Rupiah annually from Corporate and Private HNWI
Assist Membership for Venue-In-Kind
  • Referral minimum of 6 Venues (venue-in-kind)
  • Membership total US$ 50,000 (including venue in-kind and potential donation for membership for 8 months) including in the US$ 1 million overall target
The Associate Director of Philanthropy will report to the Director of Development and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts and/ or donation of $50,000 or more.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably in a large non-profit.
  • Experience working with fundraising principles and practices.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in current trends in charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for administering and maintaining HR systems, programs, procedures, and plans according to HR policies and will provide assistance to all levels of personnel on various HR data related issues and requests. Develop HR overall & Implement strategy aligning to the organization strategy. 

Duties include:

Recruitment
  • Oversee the overall recruitment process ensuring compliance to the agreed SLA and global recruitment procedure and policy.
  • Manage the recruitment of key positions, such as the division directors and philanthropy members.
  • Provide periodic recruitment report to the Country Director and supervisor on recruitment status.
  • Guide hiring managers in developing job description based on global generic job description including assigning a most appropriate job grade.
Talent Management
  • Develop strategy on talent development aligning to organization strategy.
  • Talent review, potentially through the 9 box, and developing the retention, career and development plan for the high potentials.
  • Identify the capacity needs of organization, division and individual through appropriate assessment approaches and formulate capacity plan based on the assessment results. Develop capacity plan accordingly.
  • Develop technical competencies of division as the guide for talent development.
  • Take lead on performance management, ensuring individual KPI aligning to organizational vertical alignment of KPI.
  • Take lead in the learning & development through individual development plan. Take lead in the implementation of learning & development.
  • Developing & implementing career path aligning to organizational strategy.
  • Ensuring compensation aligns to the appropriate job grade based on the update from worldwide office.
Organizational Development
  • Guide organization leaders and manager through change process.
  • Internalizing Values.
  • Take lead on the development of action plan in responsing to employee engagement survey (People Survey) and monitor their implementation.
  • Review existing HR policies and procedures and make amendment as necessary, develop new policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance (when required) during the organizational and/or divisional restructuring.
Reporting
  • Develop HR analytics to update the Country Director and direct supervisor.
Supervisory role
  • Supervising Recruitment Coordinator and HR Generalist.
Human Resources Manager is based in Jakarta and reports to the Director of Finance and Operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years Human Resources work experience in area(s) of specialization or equivalent combination.
  • Experience coordinating and leading projects.
  • Experience responding to HR related questions, problems and data information requests from employees/management.
  • Experience the following areas: database management and spreadsheet software; constructing, and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
    Experience working with integrated Human Resources Management Systems.
  • Experience in talent review through 9 box and organizational development.
