PATH is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) candidate for an anticipated USAID Private Sector Tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia award. The project will work at the national level on policy-related activities such as strategies, guidelines, and protocols. The DCOP, based in Jakarta, Indonesia will support the Chief of Party (COP) in strategic leadership and oversight, and be responsible for the following key activities:
Responsibilities:
- Support the COP by providing oversight for technical and administrative aspects of the program.
- Contribute to planning, coordination, and technical direction of project strategy and workplan in addition to implementation of all activities within the workplan to high professional standards.
- Serve as the main liaison with all partners and stakeholders, maintaining regular communication to ensure/maintain programmatic support.
- Monitoring the project's performance, with a specific focus on progress toward program objectives.
- Coordinate and liaise with key external stakeholders, including other USAID implementing partners.
- Work with project staff to develop journal articles, presentations, and posters to promote project and disseminate key project results in consultation with COP.
- Build staff capacity through on-the-job training and mentoring in consultation with the COP.
- Contribute to private sector TB initiatives and scale-up of best practices for TB prevention and control.
Required skills and experience:
- A masters’ degree or higher in a relevant field (public health, management, capacity development, social sciences)
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in development working with local governments, civil society and communities
- Demonstrated managerial and operational experience, preferably in managing large donor projects involving coordination with multiple program partners or institutions in Indonesia or the region
- Knowledge of USAID financial management and reporting requirements is highly desirable
- Experience leading, designing, delivering, influencing TB health programs
- Experience interacting with host country government agencies including local governments, development partners, and civil society organizations including community based organizations is essential
- Experience in developing program work plans, budgets, managing implementation, staff and short-term technical assistance
- Past experience working with United States Government (USG) supported projects and experience in subgrantee management, including building the capacity of local organizations and subgrantees in USG- supported grants is desired.
- Thorough knowledge of tuberculosis prevention, treatment and control issues in Indonesia.
- Familiarity with the Indonesian National TB Program and health system.
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to advise, lead, and manage technical assistance and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in coordination with international and national NGOs.
- Proven ability to advise project management, motivate and mentor staff at key positions to create a positive team environment.
- Proven ability to work with and manage a diverse multi-disciplinary team and proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and monitor project budgets.
- Excellent representational, facilitation, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Critical thinker with flexible and innovative problem solving skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
- Knowledge of local language helpful.
- Ability to travel frequently within Indonesia is required.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Demonstrated team player with visionary leadership.
Must have legal authorization to work in Indonesia.
