Institut Penelitian Inovasi Bumi (INOBU) is an independent, non-profit Indonesian research institute. Through innovative research, policy analysis, technology, and alliance-building, INOBU seeks to improve public policies and strengthen civil society to sustainably manage Indonesia's natural resources and agricultural production systems, throughout the life-cycle of products. INOBU employs leading Indonesian researchers in the fields of environmental policy, law, economics, and spatial analysis. INOBU actively engages government, civil society, and communities in the design and dissemination of its research and innovation.

Location: Jakarta, with 3 months probationary period in Bali

Scope of work
The main duty of the Communications Officer will be to support the Communications Manager in the execution of INOBU’s communication strategy, including:

• Leading the development and dissemination of communication materials such as institutional profile and project briefs
• Ensuring the publication and dissemination of INOBU’s research through journals, blogs, webinars, seminars and conferences
• Building and fostering relationships with media (including maintaining a database of media contacts)
• Maintaining contact with INOBU’s stakeholders through regular communications such as e-mail blasts and newsletters
• Assisting in preparing for all media events, for example developing and disseminating press releases
• Updating website content regularly
• Leading INOBU’s social media activities
• Initiating and organizing periodic meetings with INOBU’s partners
• Monitoring and analyzing media content related to INOBU’s work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Public Relations
• At least 1-year experience in implementing communications programs
• Good verbal and written command of Indonesian and English
• Proficient in the use of computer applications related to the task
• Ability to work in a team with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, with the right attitude and capacity to adjust to the needs of the management, clients, and stakeholders
• Fast learner who takes initiative
