The Program

The three-year Indonesia Cattle Breeding Program (‘the Program’) is an activity under the Indonesia Australia Partnership on Food Security in the Red Meat and Cattle Sector.
The Program aims to pilot a range of different breeding models and investment opportunities with private sector partners. The Program is being implemented in Kalimantan, Sumatra and Java and is assessing commercially sustainable approaches that can be scaled-up to facilitate investment, innovation and expansion of the beef cattle breeding industry in Indonesia.
The goal of the Program is to: Support the development and expansion of a competitive beef cattle breeding industry in Indonesia.
The End of Program Outcome (EOPO) of the Program is the: Establishment of commercially sustainable models to facilitate investment, innovation and expansion of the beef cattle breeding industry in Indonesia.
The Position
Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Investment Manager will responsible for the management of cattle breeding projects in predominately Sumatra and Java.
The Person
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate high-level experience in managing cattle in Indonesia, with smallholder farmers and preferably in the project targeted area. We expect that the candidate will have the following: existing networks among public and private stakeholders within the cattle breeding industry in Indonesia, an understanding of business plan development and analysis, having excellent communication and relationship management skills, fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and be able to communicate comfortably in English, both written and verbally.
