The Government of Australia (GoA), through the Australian Department
of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT), is a partner with the National
Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) under the office
of the Vice President of the Government of Indonesia. TNP2K is a policy
think tank to improve the quality and effectiveness of Indonesia's
poverty reduction programs that reach millions of poor Indonesians. The
next phase of social protection support from November 2015 through to
November 2019 is MAHKOTA Indonesia - Menuju Masyarakat Indonesia Yang
Kokoh Sejahtera (Towards a Strong and Prosperous Indonesian Society). It
will continue to provide support to help Indonesia better reach and
benefit the poorest, as well as address key binding constraints to
growth, competitiveness and rising inequality through ongoing labour
market and social protection reforms.
As
Managing Contractor of MAHKOTA Program, Cardno is urgently looking for
Senior Economist to be part of the research team. TNP2K is committed to
take on evidence-based poverty reduction and social assistance policies.
This duty is achieved through research and policy analysis that
encourage discussion and exchange of ideas on poverty, social protection
and development issues in Indonesia.
Some
key achievements that can be attributed to TNP2K's evidence-based
policy influencing and making are: 1) Increased political will for
social assistance with a 60% increase in the budget allocation for
social assistance in the 2013 budget (increased to USD 57 billion), 2)
Expanded access of social assistance programs to the poor with an
increased number of beneficiaries and a rapid and efficient rollout of a
major unconditional cash transfer program, 3) Development of a common
poverty-based targeting methodology through the adoption of the Unified
Database by all major social assistance programs and its increased
adoption by local governments, 4) The introduction of the first
integrated social assistance card in Indonesia, designed by TNP2K and
implemented as part of a comprehensive package to enhance the social
assistance programs to mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy reforms
on the poor and vulnerable.
