Johns Hopkins established CCP over 20 years ago in recognition of the pivotal role communication plays in the way people think and behave about health and development issues. As a leading international authority on public health, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is dedicated to protecting health and saving lives. The mission of CCP is to use its core strengths —strategic behavior change, knowledge management, advocacy, capacity building and research and evaluation— to achieve these goals. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Consultant for Kampung KB Program based in Jakarta.PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (JHCCP), with continued financial support from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Gates Foundation), will support BKKBN in the implementation of “Kampung KB (Family Planning Hamlet).” It is designed to contribute to the Government of Indonesia’s initiative that is aimed to empower and improve the welfare conditions of the poor and underprivileged communities in rural areas. The initiative was launched in 2016 by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. With BKKBN as the key stakeholder, this initiative is involving various sectors of developments to pursue one Kampung KB per district in the first year of implementation.
The objective of The Kampung KB Project is to improve the quality of life of the community through multi-sector programs, such as population, family planning and family development, and any other related development programs in order to achieve a small happy & welfare family.
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the guidance of Country Representative and in collaboration with CCP’s team and counterparts, the Consultant role will specifically, but not limited to, develop participatory tools and manuals for training and capacity building at all levels, and assist in providing guidance on the strategy for the development of a participatory model and its implementation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree or higher in the relevant discipline, preferably in communication, public health, demography and/or other related social science fields, with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience with international development programs; has proven experience in the development and implementation of participatory community mobilization strategies, including the development of participatory tools and monitoring and evaluation; has experience in designing community-based participatory program; and, has excellent communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken in both English and Indonesia.
