We’re looking for a smart and energetic Android developer who is passionate about writing readable, well-tested code that can scale, and constantly learning more. Our Android developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of OpenSRP applications. Your primary focus will be the development of OpenSRP applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working along-side other developers working on different layers of the infrastructure.

Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

You will be primarily responsible for local adaption of the THRIVE OpenSRP project but will also include other informatics projects involving software development and implementation in Indonesia. Software development work on the THRIVE OpenSRP will bring you into contact with diverse open source communities and you will gain exposure to the way eHealth and mHealth solutions are developed from multiple international perspectives. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
  • Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable
  • Java code Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Selection Criteria – You must have:
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering or relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia is a prerequisite.
  • Communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients (healthcare workers)
