Project Manager on FAIR and
Green Growth Project
The job holder will manage the second phase
of scoping for FAIR partnership concept, which aims to offer a partnership
between small-holder palm oil farmers and palm oil companies that is fairer,
accountable, with improved quality product/yield and a relationship that
respect human rights. It will be involved all key stakeholders along the
palm oil value chain including investors and buyers.
The post holder will provide management and
technical assistance in particular to co-create a more accountable and
improved production/quality of yield.
S/he will work together and support two national
CSOs to ensure efficient and effective delivery of this three-year project.
Together with the Natural Resource Management Coordinator and Value Chain
and Enterprise Development Coordinator, s/he will also play a role in influencing
on issues related to the promotion of fair, sustainable and inclusive private
sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management
- Coordinate with partners the over-all project implementation, and monitoring-evaluation processes
- Provide expertise and advice to partners in dealing with technical problems in project implementation.
- Responsible for reviewing partners' financial and narrative reports, and support partners where needed to ensure high quality reporting, with support from EJ Senior MEL Officer and Finance Officer.
- Prepare regular reports and updates on the implementation of the project for donor
Relationship and Capacity Building
- Build partners’ capacity through accompaniment and coaching, facilitating training
- Help to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders of FAIR partnership especially CSOs, local governments and private sector to ensure buy in and support to the FAIR partnership model
- Knowledgeable on the palm oil value chain issues;
- Good understanding and experience on applying M4P approach;
- Have substantial experience in engaging with the (local) governments and private sector (growers of palm oil);
- Have experience in working with and supporting national and local CSOs
- At least five years’ relevant experience in development and/or Program and/or project management with international donors;
- Demonstrated experience including in contracting, financial management, monitoring and reporting and design of effective activities;
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to think strategically;
- Ability to manage complex workloads and deliver outputs to agreed deadlines;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to form productive relationships;
- Familiar with human rights discourses;
- Demonstrable understanding of gender and diversity issues and proven commitment to and evidence of promoting gender and diversity equity;
- Knowledge of development issues relevant to Oxfam in Indonesia’s Program of work an advantage;
- A university degree (essential) and/or masters (an advantage) in a relevant field;
- Fluent in verbal and written English and demonstrated experience communicating in these languages with a variety of audiences.
OTHER: It is considered normal for
the post holder to undertake around 10 weeks travel per year in Indonesia,
with some potential international travel, to conduct monitoring, liaise
with partners and allies, and undertake project related activities. It
is a condition of employment that staff abide by all agency security and
safety protocols, policies and procedures and the Oxfam International Security
Protocol.
