The Swisscontact
Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP) in Indonesia, is currently accepting applications for the position of:
Program Officer Community Development Implementation
Based in Kolaka, Sulawesi Tenggara, (Job Code: POCDI-KLK),
The
SCPP is a large Public Private Development Partnership (“PPDP”) in
Indonesia, launched in January 2012. The Program is financed by the
Swiss Secretariat for
Economic Affairs SECO, the International Fund for Agriculture
Development IFAD, the Millennium Challenge Account for Indonesia
(MCA-I), and six leading Private Sector cocoa and chocolate companies
for the duration from 2012 – 2020. The Program works with 60,000
cocoa farming households in six Indonesian Provinces, with planned
expansion to include 130,000 cocoa farmers within 50 districts, to
improve farm productivity and cocoa quality, livelihood conditions, and
supply chain transparency, while reducing the environmental
footprint.
The Program Officer Community Development Implementation
is responsible
to provide leadership, technical and managerial support for
coordinating and monitoring of Cocoa Life community development program
to ensure its smooth implementation in Kolaka and East Kolaka, Southeast
Sulawesi.
Tasks
•
Responsible
to monitor the annual plan and progress of implementation of Cocoa Life
program in Kolaka and Kolaka Timur, be updated in any potential
problems and seek
problem solving to ensure well implementation of the plan
•
Provide regular update on progress of implementation of Cocoa Life program to the SPM Community Development,
Regional Program Manager and other related personnel, and in close coordination with them initiate problem solving actions.
•
To
serve as a primary contact person for Swisscontact with field
implementation staff, as well as for the local implementing organization
and other stakeholders, when
required.
•
To
be engaged and conduct advocacy to related stakeholders at the district
and field level for implementation of Cocoa Life plan in Kolaka and
Kolaka Timur.
•
Provide
inputs for development of regular reports (narrative and financial)
that required by Swisscontact and other involved partners; including
ensuring
program quality through implementation of country-specific project
review systems and comprehensive M&E systems by donor.
•
Coordinate and provide technical and managerial backstopping for the local
implementing agency team for Cocoa Life Program in Kolaka and East Kolaka, as required
Supervision and Reporting
·
With
acknowledgement of SPM Community Development, coordinate regularly with
Regional Program Managers, Program Officers and District Program Staff
to ensure that they
are aware of the progress of community development activities and
plan;
·
Provide monthly update on the main progress/update (if any) and quarter reports to the Program Implementation team;
Employee Requirements
•
Bachelor
degree in social studies, public health and other related development
studies with at least 5 years-experience working in field of community
development;
•
Good understanding on effective management of community development program with a focus on networking and training delivery
•
Have at least 5-year experience working at the community level in community development program including program management;
•
Ability to communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders from public and private sectors;
•
Ability to develop and maintain wood working relationship with various partners
•
Proven ability to develop and monitor work plans, training plans and implement participatory methods for M&E
•
Used to work and live in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments in the community;
•
A team player;
•
Good skills specifically in these following areas:
Reporting;
- Problem-solving abilities;
- Ability to cope under pressure;
- Mentoring skill;
- Strong communication skill and networking skills.
