Handicap International Job Vacancy: Project Manager - Kupang, NTT

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Handicap International (HI), is an International NGO specialised in the field of disability and development with objective to support people in situations of disability or vulnerability, whatever may be the cause and the environment underlying that situation (extreme poverty, exclusion, deficient social and health systems, serious violation or denial of basic rights, natural disasters, violence and armed conflict).

HI has answered a start fund call with Action against Hunger (ACF) to provide a quick response to the pronounced and prolonged dry season, due to El Nino effect, provoking problematic drought in NTT. The name of the project is Improve Household Access to Clean Drinking water and Complimentary Foods. HI plans to support affected population basic needs through cash transfer activities and community based initiatives.

In that regard, HI is looking for a Project Manager to implement the activities with Project Facilitators. She/he will be supported by the Cash Transfer Technical Advisor and the Program Thematic Advisor in Indonesia, and the basic needs technical referent from HQ. She/he will be managed by the Country Coordinator.

Position Title: Project Manager
Location: Kupang, NTT
Closing date: March 30, 2016

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
The tasks in particular are:
  • Ensure good coordination amongst partners of this project 
  • Guarantee the implementation of the intervention approach as broadly defined in the project proposal
  • Coach HI Partner’s Staff on cash transfer methodologies to ensure efficient, effective as well as secure project implementation
  • Ensuring the continuous monitoring of the activities including qualitative and quantitative monitoring
  • Compile information for reporting to consortium leader (ACF) and donors
DUTY STATION: The Project Manager will be based in Kupang with possible travels to the field.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
  • Excellent English comprehension both in verbal and written 
  • Higher education (Master Degree) in Social Sciences or equivalent of professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as Project Manager/similar position
Desired:
  • Knowledge on cash transfer and community based initiatives will be appreciated 
  • Experience in the field of emergency response and  disability will be an asset
Short-term contract for a period of 1 month
