IMA World Health Job Vacancy: Chief of Party - Jakarta, Indonesian

IMA is looking for a Chief of Party (COP) to manage and implement the USAID funded Indoensa Bersama project. This project will support community-based efforts to prevent and respond to GBV in Eastern Indonesia, especially in Papua and West Papua. This effort will serve as the primary entry point for supporting partners to advocate for reduced acceptance of gender inequality and for increased government accountability for promotion and protection of citizen rights and the provision of basic services, especially services for survivors of violence. As violence against women constitutes the largest and most visible component of GBV, the Bersama project will focus primarily on VAW while leaving the door open to addressing other aspects of GBV.

Duties:
  • Provide overall project management, quality and timeliness of deliverables, program impacts, external representation, and coordination with USAID AOR
  • Establish an office in Jayapura, recruiting management staff, and establishing a network of qualified professionals
  • Oversee program development and logistics for all components of the program
  • Provide strategic vision to reach the program's objectives and will oversee project activities to ensure quality of work and compliance with award obligations and results
  • Provide oversight for the overall quality and performance of work that is sub-granted to other partners including the capacity building of their subs to be able to deliver better deliverables
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Gender/GBV studies, or other related social science and development studies. A master degree holder is preferable
  • Minimum of 10 years of international development experience, including working with USAID-funded project, significant management experience in a developing country context, implementing complex donor-funded projects with multiple activities, and direct knowledge of logistics, procurement procedures including hiring, supervising, systems and office set-up, and understand host country environment
  • Experience in Papua and/or West Papua is strongly desired
  • Strong gender and GBV expertise, along with a commitment to community-based approaches and working with CBOs and CSOs
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the project's three main objectives: 1.) Reduced Acceptance of GBV and Gender Inequality through establishment of norms that support non-violence and equity in relationships among women and men. 2.) Strengthened Government Capacity to provide basic services related to GBV. 3.) Increased voice for Bersama CSO sub grantees in the fight against GBV
  • Demonstrated skills in written and spoken English. The candidate would be fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia
