Wahana Visi Indonesia Vacancy: Forestry Project Coordinator of IRED - NTT, Waingapu

Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. Wahana Visi Indonesia has been working for more than 15 years, employing more than 800 staff  in the programs and serving 1,400 of the poorest villages.  Our focus is on programming effort on health, education and economic development across transformational development, humanitarian emergency affairs and advocacy ministries.

Wahana Visi Indonesia is currently seeking the several positions for Indonesia Regional Economic Development (IRED) program.  IRED which supported by the Australian Government, DFAT, aims to expand the successfully trialled Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) system to help farmers regenerate degraded farmlands and forests, increase yields, improve quality, enhance market access and boost income by 2016. As land is regenerated, the project will increase agricultural income generation through market facilitation of livestock, short-term annual crops, medium-term perennial crops and long-term timber products. 

The positions open for this program are:

Forestry Project Coordinator of  IRED  (Code: FPC - IRED) Location : NTT, Waingapu

Major Roles:
This position has responsibility to directly works with farmers to support them to make better decisions to increase forestry production. The role will bring the latest techniques and information related to forestry and actively relay this information to farmers and local forestry products businesses.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree preferably  in Forestry.
  • Min. 2-3 years development sector experience with international donor funded programs; experience in forestry program will be an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of a wide range of forestry methodologies and approaches, and the relative benefits or drawbacks of associated with each.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting writing skills
  • Good communication skills
