Terre des Hommes Netherlands (Earth for Mankind) is a Dutch organization founded in 1965 as a non-profit organization. Terre des Hommes Netherlands aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable children in difficult circumstances all over the world, regardless of race, faith and/or political orientation and to have their rights as laid down in the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child protected and assured.  

Terre des Hommes Netherlands was awarded funding for ‘WATCH’ a three year project operates in eight locations in India, Indonesia, Nepal and Philippines. For its project in Bali, Terre des Hommes is looking for a Project Officer to take the lead in the project implementation.    

The Project Officer will have the responsibility for the overall implementation of child protection project activities, plan, monitor and report on all these activities, such as:

• Overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes in Bali
• Ensuring that all scheduled project reports such as progress reports are delivered timely and that they are of good quality, analyse the received information and compile the necessary reports. Define project progress, problems and solutions.
• Employing resourcefulness in implementation and monitoring, trouble shoots project problems, identifies and implements creative solutions.
• Acting as the main contact point for the Terre des Hommes Netherlands staff and project partners in Bali
• Liaising with national and local authorities on matters related to child protection concerns
• Managing Bali office finance and administration
• Managing safety and security for staff and visitors in Bali office.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of community development, sociology, child rights up to bachelor level with a track record of at least 3 year experience in a similar position in a similar type of organisation
• Experience with child rights based programming is preferable
• Basic financial management skills
• Knowledge of the political, religious and social structures of the respective area and the relevant languages
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English

This position requires frequent travel within Bali and surrounding areas.
The position is open for Indonesia National resident of Bali only.

Location and duration:

• The Project Officer will be stationed in Bali with intensive traveling within Bali.
• The assignment will be for a period of one (1) year  with the possibility for extension, starting asap.

Our offer

• This position is a local position for which local remuneration and secondary benefits apply. We offer a salary in accordance with the labour market depending on experience and qualifications, and fringe benefits.
