Open Positions at The Nature Conservancy Indonesia Program - 7 Positions

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.  In Indonesia, TNC has been supporting improved natural resource planning and management for 20 years, including working with government, private sector, and local communities.  TNC Indonesia Program is now entering into a strategic partnership for integrated landscape management initiatives with one of the largest and most technologically advanced pulp and paper producers in the world.  We are looking for candidates with knowledge and experiences of forestry sector, particularly pulp and paper industry, to become part of a vibrant and dynamic team to implement this partnership with our existing team as well as our regional and global experts.

Corporate Transformation and Sustainability Strategy Lead
Leads, oversees and coordinates the overall implementation of this strategic partnership

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Forestry, Nature Conservation or related degree and 10 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Advanced degree is preferred 
  • Knowledge of High Conservation Value, ecosystem restoration, climate change, and green development will be a plus 
  • Demonstrate adequate knowledge and experience in project management and partnership building
  • Demonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation policy and plans at different levels
Conservation Planner
Leads the conservation, spatial, and land use planning work including developing spatial decision-making support tools for conservation efforts

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in natural resources management, geography, biology, forestry or another related field of study and at least 5 years’ experience in land conservation.  Advanced degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of landscape level approach, such as eco-regional planning and land suitability analysis
  • Advanced GIS skills using ArcGIS, spatial analysis extension, 3D analyst, image analyst, and other required extensions for conservation analysis
  • Knowledge of HCV and HCS
Sustainable Finance Development Manager
Provides expertise/technical advice on conservation finance and develops innovative financing strategies/ methods, analyses, tools and frameworks to address sustainable resource use and management, in particular, focusing on good governance, institutional capacity building and sustainable financing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years’ experience in a private sector environment, such as management consulting and investment banking, or with a leading conservation organization or government entity, or in developing good governance and sustainable financing frameworks and systems as well as building the capacity of local institutions to manage natural resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA or similar degree with significant coursework in finance or economics is preferred 
  • Successful experience in partnership development including extensive networking with high-level conservation contacts
Stakeholder Engagement Manager
Builds/maintains relationships with various stakeholders and develop/implement the overall strategies of stakeholder’s engagement

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental policy, management or other relevant field and 5 years of government relations or corporate sector experience, or equivalent combination education/experience.  Advanced degree is preferre
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, highly developed in influencing and relationship management skills
  • Strong understanding of engagement principles and tools and ability to apply these principles and tools effectively 
  • Understanding of issues management in corporate reputation context 
  • Politically savvy and experienced in conducting negotiation with various stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement Specialist
Supports the Stakeholder Engagement Manager in building and maintaining engagement with various stakeholders

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental policy, management or other relevant field and 4 years of government relations or corporate sector experience, or equivalent combination education/experience.  
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Politically savvy and experienced in conducting negotiation with various stakeholders
Communications Specialist
Supports and ensures smooth implementation of communication and/or media strategy within this strategic partnership

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field and 7 years’ experience implementing media relations programs and measuring results or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree is preferred 
  • Experience in developing communications, media and engagement strategies and measuring results.
  • Experience in writing, editing and proofreading messages for targeted audiences.
Project Management Coordinator
Provides support in program coordination (through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting), monitoring and evaluation, communications and network development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience. 
  • Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting the data.
  • Proven Project Management Analyst/Coordinator experiences and knowledge of project management, business process analysis and/or improvement.
