Islamic Development Bank is looking for one Communication Officer, Jakarta

The Islamic Development Bank is an international financial institution established in pursuance of the Declaration of Intent issued by the Conference of Finance Ministers of Muslim Countries held in Jeddah in Dhul Q'adah 1393H, corresponding to December 1973. The Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Governors took place in Rajab 1395H, corresponding to July 1975, and the Bank was formally opened on 15 Shawwal 1395H corresponding to 20 October 1975.

The Islamic Development Bank, Country Gateway Office (CGO) Indonesia is seeking highly qualified candidates for one Communication Officer.

1. Background
The Country Gateway Office Indonesia has been successfully launched and implement the work with Government of Indonesia and other partners. Although IDB received positive respond from the current partners, feedback showed that IDB visibility in Indonesia are still low and many organizations doesn’t know and understand IDB’s mandate and functions. Therefore, to establish effective communication with partners, potential partners and external parties and to increase people’s awareness on the Islamic Development Bank and the Country Gateway Office in Indonesia, the CGO Indonesia decide to recruit one Communication Officer to assist the CGO in implementing a successful communication strategy and activities.

2. Scope of work
The Communications Officer will be a core member of the Country Gateway Office team, operating under the supervision of the Resident Representative and in close collaboration with other members of the CGO Office. She or he will be responsible for the implementation of IDB’s communications and specifically, the Officer will be expected to:
 
a. Develop and implement IDB’s communications strategy and materials to ensure the visibility of the IDB Country Gateway Office in Indonesia;
b. Coordinate media relations, including:
    i. Drafting press advisories, press releases, coordinating interviews, monitoring media coverage, responding to journalists’ inquiries and media requests 
       in close collaboration with the responsible/relevant Sectors Specialist.
   ii. Coordinate and facilitate media relations in country, including the organization of press conferences/briefings, if needed, or field visits, and the 
      production of media-style public information products, media-speaking/talking points, press releases, human interest stories for use by IDB, CGO.
  iii. Identify and prioritize critical IDB objectives, products and activities that can achieve higher visibility through media support; coordinate and plan 
      activities with partners’ media networks;
c. Develop communication products for IDB CGO activities (stories for print and web, leaflets, brochures, presentations, speaking points, executive briefs, 
    posters, photos and video when possible), including the drafting/reviewing of texts in English;
d. Coordinate the development and dissemination of IDB messages, advocacy tools and other products, including:
    i. Preparation of communication and promotional material.
   ii.Supporting/coordinating IDB participation in national/international events of relevant public information products, including publications material and 
      coordination with partner organizations and guests;
e. Development and management of the IDB CGO website; newsletter and related on‐line social media tools;
f.  Monitor and report results and impacts of IDB’s communications activities.
g. Perform any other related duties as required.
 
3. Qualifications:
a. Excellent verbal and written communications, monitoring, analytical and report writing skills.
b. Demonstrated experience working an international context with a variety of stakeholders, such as senior government officials and International 
    Development partners, journalists, policy‐ and decision‐makers.
c. An established track record in communications and social media outreach. In particular, familiarity with content‐management‐based websites such as 
    typo3.
d. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
e. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant professional work experience.
f.  Fluency in English is required and additional language skills are a plus, especially Arabic.
 
4. Expected scope and duration of assignment:
a. The successful candidate will be hired for a period of six months full‐ time work and can be extend further.
b. The position may involve national travel.
