TFT Job Vacancies: 3 Positions Based Jakarta & Semarang

TFT is a global non-profit organization that helps companies and communities deliver Responsible Products.

We act on the ground in forests, farms and factories to help creating products that respect the environment and improve people’s lives. To support our projects to deliver Responsible Products, we are urgently seeking qualified, hardworking and motivated candidates to fulfill full-time positions, based in either TFT’s Jakarta or Semarang office with frequent travel assignment. We will organize a walk-in interview as follows:

1. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT MANAGER (SE-M)
  • Expertise on handling mill, forest/estate, in pulp and paper/palm oil industry.
  • Have min 10 years working in forestry/palm oil field.
  • Have experience in managing a complex project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Have a wide network with community, CSOs, NGOs, private sectors, and government.
Main Duties:
  • Developing workshops aimed to engage operations/plantations teams for No Deforestation, No Development on Peat and No Exploitation (NDPE) policy.
  • Engaging partners’ supplier to raise awareness of the NDPE policy and gauge suppliers willingness and capacity to reform its operations to conform with the policy.
  • Coordinating / facilitating workshops on FPIC, Conflict Resolution, SIA and other social management training.
  • Evaluating workshop related to suppliers’ implementation of company’s policy.
  • Supporting Social Teams in identifying challenges and facilitating generation of solutions.
  • Liaising with NGOs/other stakeholders for basic purposes of project and calling for input on solutions or input on additional areas of concern.
  • Maintaining a service provider (SP) register covering either NGOs or SPs that can support suppliers in ensuring compliance with company’s integrated policy.
  • Collaborating with stakeholder towards consensus on what it takes for the better inclusion of smallholders into the supply chain and start a process of engagement towards consensus.
2.  GRASSROOT MANAGER (GR-M)
  • Have min 10 years working in related field on forestry/agriculture industry and commodities supply chain.
  • Have experience in managing a complex monitoring and evaluation (M/E) on forestry/agriculture programs, with proven experience in in the design and implementation of credible M/E system.
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of M/E reports.
  • Have a wide network with community, CSOs, NGOs, private sectors, and government.
Main Duties:
  • Developing workshops aimed to develop M/E system on implementing NDPE policies.
  • Develop M/E events that ensure a program or project adheres to relevant legal regulations, industry standards and organizational NDPE policies.
  • Maintaining a service provider (SP) register covering either NGOs or SPs that can support regular M/E program to detect areas that violate the guidelines and initiates corrective measures.
  • Collaborating with stakeholder towards consensus on what it takes for the better inclusion of smallholders into the M/E process.
3. SOCIAL SPECIALIST (SSP)
  • Experiences in related areas of social management (Senior SSP: min. 7 years, Junior SSP: min. 4 years)
  • Familiarity with social (e.g. FPIC, conflict resolution, SIA, etc.) as well as industry (e.g. RSPO, ISPO, NDPE and Risk Assessment) practices and principles.
Main Duties:
  • Assisting and training TFT’s clients in meeting social standards of  various certification schemes, such as the FSC, PEFC, RSPO, etc.
  • Providing thorough analysis and recommendation for TFT and Clients in creating strong Social Management Programs for their companies.
  • Assessing companies’ labor standards, particularly with  regard to safety, ILO Convention and gender equality
  • Assessing company procedures for securing land from local people, or entering into joint management agreements against the principles of Free, Prior, Informed Consent (FPIC)
  • Training TFT Clients on how to carry out FPIC, Social Impact Assessment, set up systems for conflict prevention and resolution,
  • Developing and implementing plans for TFT and clients to settle conflicts in various TFT project sites.
  • Facilitating social/conflict mapping and conflict resolution processes in various TFT project sites.
  • Maintaining good communications and relations with clients and various respected stakeholders,such as NGOs in Indonesia.
  • Writing Reports for internal and external audiences on work done related to Conflict Management and/or Social Standards.
  • Preparing proposals related to TFT Social Management Work for Business and Donor clients.
General Requirements:
  • Graduate/Master degree in related field from reputable universities.
  • Good understanding of  national legislations on forestry, palm oil, workers right, sustainable development, international norms and standards, etc.
  • Integrity and sensitivity, self-motivated and attention to details, strategic oriented with an ability to drive change and strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, innovative and creative, and good problem-solving and excellent listening, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work with other team members, work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience/ ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder processes and communicate with wide range of stakeholders, participatory approaches, methods and tools, and ability to carry out various social researches.
  • Ability to work in a diverse situations; including very rural settings.
  • Fluent in English-both written and spoken, able to write reports and presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Confidence in using computer packages such as spreadsheets and databases.
