Embassy of Denmark in Jakarta is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Programme
Officer who wants to play a crucial role in Denmark’s development cooperation
programme for Indonesia, focusing on the environment, energy and climate
change/natural resource management. Denmark is a strong partner for Indonesia
and our development cooperation programme assists Indonesia in promoting a
green growth agenda.
Your role:
With a nice office in the Danish Embassy you will be
reporting to and working closely together with the posted Counsellor for
Development as well as with a team of advisors in Jakarta and Central Java. As
an excellent networker you will develop a close relationship with mid- to
high-level officials from our partners, including the Government, CSOs, the
private sector and other donors. Thanks to your strong analytical skills you
will work independently and provide strategic as well as practical advice and updates on climate change,
environment, energy, forestry and natural resources. On a day-to-day basis, you
will be involved in monitoring and ensuring the timely and result oriented
implementation of the development programme.
Your competences:
- A university degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Environmental Studies or Engineering or other relevant fields, preferably with an emphasis on environment and climate changes issues·
- Experience in managing development aid, preferably from other international donor agencies or non-governmental organisations·
- Knowledge of Indonesia’s institutional, political and social structure, particularly within the field of environment, energy, forestry and climate change·
- Ability to understand Indonesia’s environment and climate change challenges at the different levels and aspects and make this operational in the daily work with the Indonesian partners·
- Ability to develop and maintain an extensive network of appropriate mid- to high-level contacts in the government and non-government sector·
- Experience in project management is an advantage·
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken
What we offer:
Our new colleague will be offered a contract in accordance
with regulations for local staff at the Embassy of Denmark in Jakarta. We would
like you to start as soon as possible and preferably no later than 1 August.
