Background
United
Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) is one of the nine Regional Sections of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) which
is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. UCLG is the largest association of local governments in the world and the
officially recognized voice of local goverbment by the United Nations. The Asia
and Pacific region is the biggest of the nine sections in UCLG with linkages to more tha 7.000 local governments. It
represents well over 3.76 billiion people-more than half of the world
population-and incorporates economically fast developing countries such as
China, India and Indonesia.
UCLG
ASPAC is the key knowledge management hub on local government issues in the
Asia-Pacific region. It promotes democratic local government, support
cooperation between cities, local governments and their associations, and
facilities programmes, network and partnerships to develop the capacity of
local governments and the associations. Moreover, UCLG ASPAC represents local
governments politically within the International community, and with the United
Nations and its agencies. It also promotes inclusice societies which safeguard
equality, social and economic justice, and sustainable community development.
UCLG ASPAC is engaged in all relevant thematic fields for nurturing sustainable
development comprising poverty alleviation, climate change, disaster
resiliency, culture, strategic planning, decentralization, local finance, and good governance.
An individual contractor
will be hired for a period of fourth (4) months to support the Strategic
Services Division in implementing the planned activities covered ASEAN Mayor
Forum and Cities Expo 2015, internship program and administrative duties the
Division.
Objective and goal:
- To provide assistance and support for the preparation and implementation of ASEAN Mayor Forum and Cities Expo 2015
- To promote UCLG ASPAC through communication with project partners as well as ASEAN Cities Expo 2015
- To ensure a well-coordinated of UCLG ASPAC internship program
- To support the advocacy works of UCLG ASPAC through ASEAN Mayor Forum
Scope of Work/Key Duties
Under this
Scope of Work, the individual contractor will carry out the following key
activities:
- Manage and coordinate the logistic as well as content development for ASEAN Mayor Forum and Cities Expo 2015
- Monitor and evaluate the preparation and implementation of ASEAN Mayor Forum and Cities Expo 2015
- Assist the development including design and dissemination of the ASEAN Mayor Forum and Cities Expo 2015 products and reports
- Responsible to ensure coordination with external partners and internal divisions of UCLG ASPAC for the preparation and implementation of ASEAN Mayor Forum and Cities Expo 2015 and internship program
- Perform other tasks as requested by Secretary General
Deliverables
- A narrative report consisting activities report by the end of each month
- Other supporting documents for ASEAN Mayors Forum and Cities Expo 2015 and internship program of UCLG ASPAC
- A presentation shall be made to UCLG ASPAC

Qualification
1. Bachelor degree administration minimum 3 year experience working in semiliar position in NGO and/or INGO,
2. strong in communication with English and indonesia
3. Computer or software skills
4. Ability work independently
