Chemonics
International, a leading international development consulting firm based
in Washington, D.C., is seeking Indonesian national Governance Advisor
candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Indonesia Adaptasi Perubahan
Iklim dan Ketangguhan (APIK) project in Indonesia. The $18-20 million,
five-year project will aim to improve climate and disaster resilience in
Indonesia by supporting the government at the local, district, and
provincial, and national levels, working directly with communities and
the private sectors, and helping key stakeholders to develop,
disseminate, and utilize better climate change information. We are
looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in
the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities: Work
with both the national and local government to ensure effective
integration of climate change considerations into policies and
procedures, including planning, budgeting, and operations.
Qualifications:
• At
least seven years of relevant governance expertise including a track
record in effective institutional strengthening, public policy
development, community empowerment, public participation and partnership
building with government at the local and national levels;
• Demonstrated understanding of Indonesia’s decentralized government system including experience advising executive and legislative branches of local government in budgeting, planning, management of services and/or policy development;
• An advanced degree in a relevant field, such as environmental management, law, finance, economy, business administration, public policy, climate change, disaster resilience or other related field;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Strong English writing and speaking skills;
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and a knowledge of Indonesian culture.
