RENSTRA Technical Editor - Indonesia
Chemonics International Inc. seeks a RENSTRA Technical Editor for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and
Climate Support (IMACS) Project. The goal of the IMACS Project is to contribute
to the sustainable management of Indonesia's marine and coastal ecosystems. The
objective of the assignment is to assist the Ministry of Marine Affairs and
Fisheries (MMAF) in the implementation of their recently drafted Rencana
Strategis (strategic plan, RENSTRA) 2014-2019.
This position is short-term and based in Jakarta, Indonesia,
from April – May 2015 for approximately 15 working days.
Responsibilities
The
overall objective of this assignment is
to carry out a technical review and edit the work stream (WS)
documents. The
intention of the assignment is to utilize the result of analysis of the
WS such that it can reach the general readers and stakeholders of MMAF
while maintaining the significant technical content. The Editor will
report to
and closely work with his/her leader. In
addition, the Editor will work and coordinate with writers of the
documents and
IMACS task team members, as required.
The RENSTRA Technical
Editor will provide assists to the team of specialist writers (in the
fields of Capture Fisheries, Aquaculture, Fish Processing and Market
Development, and Marine Affairs) in writing a report for the Ministry of Marine
Affairs on Development Planning over 2015-2025.
In doing so, the RENSTRA Technical Editor will complete the following
tasks:

Technical Editor will complete the following tasks associated with this
assignment:
- Review and edit the technical content of all work stream documents
- Convert the work stream documents into popular version documents
- Discuss with MMAF (Director of Planning Bureau, Secretary of related DG, and/or his/her designee) about the content of edited documents
- Discuss with writers of the documents and IMACS task team members in editing process, as required
Qualifications
- Minimum a master’s degree or equivalent experience in a marine and fisheries issues
- Strong technical and practical leadership and knowledge in issues related to marine and fisheries management and policy
- Strong written communication skills to fulfill the proposed technical and editorial responsibilities.
- Familiarity with MMAF governance systems and the roles of key stakeholders at both the central and regional level
- Minimum of ten years of experience at a senior academic, high level officer, consultant or industry professional
- Experienced in working in teams comprising of senior government officials, university professors, fisheries experts and other similarly senior people
- Excellent command of written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia
- Good command of written and spoken English (desirable)
