SLP Writer

The Sustainable Landscapes Partnership (SLP) is an innovative public-private partnership in Indonesia that brings governments, communities, businesses, and non-governmental organizations together to develop and test new approaches to land use planning and management.

It is aimed at creating sustainable agricultural economic opportunities, while maintaining natural capital and avoiding deforestation and associated greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, SLP is working at three sites in Sumatera, namely Mandailing Natal (Madina), Tapanuli Selatan (TapSel), and Tapanuli Utara (TapUt) districts, and will likely expand to West Papua. SLP aims to establish a replicable model of public-private partnerships that foster low carbon development opportunities, thereby helping to address global climate change and contribute to economic growth. SLP is implemented by Conservation International and funded by the United States Agency for International Development and the Walton Family Foundation.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS CONSULTANCY
SLP requires short-term writer to conduct a field visit to three SLP target districts (Tapanuli Selatan, Tapanuli Utara and Mandailing ) in North Sumatera from April to May 2015 to write 8 stories from the field. All of these written materials will be used extensively in SLP publications and CI website. 

DELIVERABLES
  • Write at least 8 Stories from the Field for the three SLP districts in North Sumatera (Madina, TapUt and TapSel) and possibly Medan. Up to 4 of these 7 stories may be updates to existing stories that have new activities and results to report. 
  • First drafts of 8 Stories From the Field due May 1, 2015; Final drafts due May 20, 2015.

16 days writing, revising, finalizing all the written deliverables
