Seeking English to Bahasa Translator for LGBT training module


REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The Islands of Southeast Asia Network on Male and Transgender Sexual Health (ISEAN) and the Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (Hivos) jointly implemented the ISEAN Hivos Program supported by
Global Fund Round 10. This program has the main goal of reducing the risks,
vulnerability and impact of HIV and AIDS on the lives of MSM and transgender
community in Island Southeast Asia Nations. It intends to address critical
gaps in supporting and scaling up activities that reduce HIV/AIDS among MSMs
and TGs.

Hivos, as the Principal Recipient of the grant under the ISEAN-Hivos Program
Global Fund Round 10 is now on its Phase 2 of implementation from October,
2013 to September, 2016. UNDP as the regional partner for the ISEAN-Hivos
Round 10 program, currently together with WHO (SEARO and WPRO) has developed
a regional training package on enhancing HIV, STI and other sexual health
services for MSM and transgender people in Asia and the Pacific with the
title of "The Time Has Come". Based on recent discussion with Ministry of
Health, there is an interest to adapt the training package into one stand
alone training curriculum for health workers. The purpose of the training
will be for strengthening the capacities of health care providers providing
HIV/STI services to MSM and transgender people, and reduction of stigma in
health care settings. In this regard, it is seeking Expressions of Interest
from qualified Individual Consultant for translating the module.

Specifically, the following will be provided by the translator to address
the Grant's requirements

To do the adaptation of UNDP - WHO "The Time Has Come" Training Package into
Ministry of Health of Indonesia Training Package to reduce stigma and
discrimination at the health care settings.

Key Qualifications:

1. Diploma or higher education in public health, human rights, English literature or other relevant field

2. Minimum of 1 years in translating document from English to Bahasa Indonesia

3. Familiarity with health/LGBT issues is preferable.

4. Familiarity with HIV- AIDS.

5. Good interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills

6. Ability to work efficiently and independently under pressure, handle multi-tasking situations with strong delivery orientation;

7. Advance proficiency in operating Microsoft office applications;

8. Excellent spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia

9. Preferably based Jakarta, Indonesia.
