Conservation
International Indonesia (CII) is currently
looking for highly qualified candidates to fill the Monitoring,
Evaluation and Reporting Coordinator position
for our project
based in Medan, Indonesia.
Job
Summary:
The Sustainable Landscapes Partnership (SLP) program will
establish a replicable model of public-private partnerships that foster low
carbon development opportunities, thereby helping to address global climate
change and contribute to economic growth.
The SLP will combine public (USAID) and private philanthropic (Walton
Family Foundation) funding facility focused on catalyzing low carbon private
sector investment in specific landscapes of high conservation value in
Indonesia over a five-year period (2011-2015).
This Facility will invest in low carbon and Reduced Emissions from
Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) development activities and
business models that seek to reduce or eliminate deforestation and associated
CO2 emissions.
The
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator will provide support to SLP’s
M&E Specialist related to effective data collection, monitoring, evaluation
and reporting in order to measure program impact and report to donors. The
M&E Coordinator will oversee data collection and cleaning, and maintain
monitoring and reporting systems for SLP, carry out monitoring visits and
prepare field reports. S/he will be expected to train program staff to ensure
performance indicators and output, outcome and impact data are prepared and
collected properly in targeted geographic and thematic areas. S/he will ensure
the accurate and timely submission of all relevant reports. S/he will work
closely with SLP’s M&E Specialist and field teams to verify data is
accurate. S/he will also maintain good relationships with internal and external
partners, including government officers, private sector partners, other NGOs,
and community members to gain their engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Data
Collection and Database Management
1. Data
Collection and Database Management
- Oversee all routine Monitoring and Evaluation actions and ensure templates (Data Intake Forms) are appropriately used and Standard Operating Procedures are followed in support of SLP’s Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) and other USAID and CII indicators.
- Enter quantitative data and means of verification into an SLP database, maintain the database, ensure that all data is cleaned and verified; serve as database troubleshooter.
- Ensure M&E indicators in database match reporting requirements.
- Work with SLP technical leads to ensure timely and adequate data collection on indicators on quarterly basis;
- Proactively identify key program and themes areas for evaluation and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to all USAID regulations related to M&E.
2. Reporting
- Provide written contributions to weekly, quarterly and annual reports as needed.
- Format and process data for reporting to USAID (which should include monthly or quarterly progress reporting and annual review);
- Assist the Communications Team in the gathering of newsletter items of interest, providing photographs, writing newsletter articles, providing information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports;
- Support gender assessment and training;
- Identify lessons learned and recommendations that will contribute to future SLP monitoring and evaluation and program implementation strategies;
- Other duties as assigned by the M&E Specialist.
3. Training
- Strengthen the capacity of the SLP Field Team and technical specialists by identifying training opportunities and increasing the team’s knowledge of M&E protocols and practice
Minimum
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1 or higher) in management, forestry, agribusiness, rural development or related field;
- Minimum five years of experience with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems on donor funded programs, preferably with USAID experience;
- Proven track record in obtaining and analyzing data and reporting on program results for donors;
- Strong analytical skills, excellent computer skills in MS Office and experience in using database programs for data entry, analysis and reporting;
- Frequent travel to program field sites in North Sumatera (Medan, TapUt, TapSel, and Madina) and ability to spend between 50-60% of time in SLP program locations in North Sumatera to undertake regular monitoring and evaluation activities;
- Experienced with donor reporting and developing systems to capture data that can be reflected in accurate and well written reports;
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Bahasa Indonesia (reading, writing, and oral);
- Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders from local and national governments to the private sector.
- Proven track record of working in challenging settings to achieve successful outcomes;
- Ensure good reporting with complete information captured and in timely manner.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented and able to submit deliverables often under short-timelines
- Familiarity with local environmental issues and social and cultural realities in North Sumatera.
Competent
and confident in collecting and analyzing data (both qualitative and
quantitative) using a range of survey instruments spanning SLP thematic elements
