Background about Transformasi
The Center for Public Policy Transformation (Transformasi, in
Indonesian) is a ‘networked think tank’ that brings together researchers,
policy makers, business, civil society groups and others. The aim is to narrow
the gap between policy makers, researchers and the public and to promote
evidence-based solutions to public problems.
Transformasi is committed to facilitate policy
dialog/forums at national level and provide training program for mayors and
district heads including key staff at district level /key government officers
at provincial level. The main stakeholders of Transformasi are policy-makers at
the ministerial level and district heads as well as researchers or scholars.
Transformasi has identified three core issues to be addressed by the program:
fisheries and coastal management; urban land use planning and basic services;
and infrastructure development for connectivity in rural areas.
Purpose of Transformasi’s Urban Program
To improve capacities of policy makers on urban
planning and management in Indonesia and to narrow the gap between policy
makers, researchers and private sectors to achieve great coordination in
improving the living condition of urban citizen.
In
order to support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of
Transformasi program relates to urban issues including policy brief
preparation, liaison with stakeholders and organize policy forum,
Transformasi is seeking for an "URBAN SPECIALIST".
Key Responsibilites:
- Preparing event (forum, policy dialogue, symposium, FGD) including develop the concept draft and budget, identify partners and invitees, meeting with government officials, academics, expert, civil society, etc.
- Play role to commission policy research including developing TOR, monitoring the progress, selecting consultant, arranging contract, etc
- Identify potential partners and stakeholders and maintain relationship with stakeholders and partners
- Work with research assistant and communication team to direct and write the content for fact sheet, info graphic, e-newsletter, policy brief, website and other material that relates to urban issues.
- Monitor policy debate on urban issues in media public area for input to Transformasi program and communication team
- Monitor and evaluate program delivery and prepare report
- Assist in other action Transformasi activities as needed
Requirement:
- 5 years of experiences in development organization or government institution preferably in relation with urban planning/development.
- Knowledge on urban planning, urban policy and development issue
- Have wide network with central and local government (KemenPU, Bappenas, academics/expert, CSO/NGO in urban development issues
- Experience in commissioning policy research
- Experience in managing event
- Skill in producing written materials for reporting and media
- Strong communication skill to be able to liaise with government, experts, academia including phone call, responding emails, arranging meeting
- Flexible and self-starter
- Have good manner to work in a team
- Internet and Microsoft Office application (Ms-Excel, Ms-Word, email) is a must
- English proficiency is a must (speaking and writing)
