Develop Marketing Strategy of Certified Soybean Seed for Commercial Market
Background:
AIP-PRISMA
(Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through
Support for Markets in Agriculture) is a multi-year program that is part
of the Indonesian Government’s long term strategy to encourage
economic growth. Supported by the Australian Government, the program
aims to achieve a 30% increase in the net incomes of 300,000 male and
female farmers in eastern Indonesian by 2017 by improving productivity,
market access, and innovation. PRISMA focuses
on major agriculture sectors in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East
Nusa Tenggara, Papua and West Papua, We promote partnerships and help
spur growth among value chain actors by reducing barriers and
constraints within the agriculture sector.
Task/Work Description:
AIP-PRISMA
is planning to have a market-based agricultural intervention in
developing a commercial market for certified soybean seed that satisfies
the need for good quality soybean seed from soybean farmers in
Trenggalek district. AIP-PRISMA intends to work with a seed nursery to
help promote these certified seeds. AIP-PRISMA now seeks the services of
a consultant/consulting firm to develop the Marketing and Promotional
Strategy which would help in creating a well-designed
promotion plan, associated tools, and achievable activities for UD
Karya Tani (a certified soybean seed producer in Trenggalek) that are
uniquely suited to the target audience (soybean farmers), the sector and
the target area. The Marketing and Promotional
Strategy should also include how to attract interest from other private
sector seed producers. Since the intervention is already underway, it
is important that the promotional materials are designed for the current
intervention after which a more generic Marketing
and Promotional Strategic Plan needs to be developed. The learning from
the current promotion should also feed into the new Plan.
Qualification Desirable:
- Proven work experience in working in marketing strategy and promotional planning especially in agriculture input products.
- A demonstrated track record in development of promotion plan, tools, and activities in agriculture with detailed summary of previous engagements is required.
- Strong local knowledge with established networks in the target regions either directly or via local collaborating partners.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales target in a range of agriculture input products with special skills to achieve practice change by farmers.
- Proven ability to conduct promotional activities.
