Interpreter for Close
Out Events - Indonesia
Chemonics International Inc. seeks an Interpreter for
close out events in Kendari, Mataram, and Jakarta. Under the Marine Resources
Program, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Indonesia
has conducted activities such as the Indonesia Marine and Climate Support
(IMACS) project and the Marine Protected Area Governance (MPAG) project. These two programs are directed towards
restoring and improving the productivity of ecosystems for biodiversity, food
security, and the economy; and increasing the resilience of natural ecosystems
and coastal communities in adapting to climate change and natural disasters.
The IMACS and MPAG projects are significant USAID assistance
programs that support the ongoing work of the Indonesian Ministry of Marine
Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF). These two initiatives are in their final phases
and will close in 2015. It is now an opportune time to highlight achievements
from nearly five years of working together and celebrate this important
collaboration between USAID and the Government of Indonesia.
To ensure the clarity in communication during the event, it
is necessary to hire an interpreter as she/he will serve as single source of
interpretation for foreign participants and for Indonesian counterpart as
required. The gatherings will be divided into three separate events held
consecutively in Kendari, Mataram and Jakarta. Invitees at each regional event
will include the governor, and heads of each district as well as
representatives of the relevant agencies in both provinces. Invitees to the
Jakarta event will include Coordinating Ministry of Maritime, Ministry of
Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Environment and
Ministry of National Planning.
Responsibilities
As the
participants for this event will consist of high level government officers, it
is necessary that the interpreter shall provide their highest standard of
interpretation. During this event, discussion and presentation such as success
stories, challenges and future development of USAID initiatives will be
presented; therefore clarity of interpretation, consecutive or simultaneous,
shall be clearly conveyed.
The interpreter
will provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation, as required, at three
day-long closing out events in Kendari, Mataram, and Jakarta.
The period of this assignment will begin on or about
February 2, 2015 and will be completed on or about February 25, 2015. The level of effort will be three (3) days;
the Kendari event is to be held February 3, Mataram on February 11, and Jakarta
on February 25, 2015. For the Kendari and Mataram events, the Interpreter will
travel to the event the day before, and depart the day after the event.

- Diploma (3 years) in Administrative Business, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or other relevant fields of study.
