WWF Vacancy: Fisheries Officer (FOM) based in Maluku

We are the largest nature conservation NGO in Indonesia, which has started its activity since 1962. Currently, we have 28 offices, from Aceh to Papua and has a total of more than 400 staff. Since 2006, our organization supported by more than 54,000 supporters from all over the archipelago.

We are currently seeking a highly qualified, experienced candidate, who has reputable qualifications for: Fisheries Officer (FOM) based in Maluku.

Which Responsible to support a policy-based research, providing models, development, and implementation of conservation expertise related to effective management of marine protected area and fisheries in Inner Banda sustainably, and responsible for, including, fishery pelagic, demersal, and aquaculture (including issues by ctach and endemic species), particularly development, testing, and promoting Better Management Practices of Fisheries, EAFM, and the insistence on the possibility and the adoption of eco-label certification (MSC) at the field level, in the national effort to create a sustainable fishing trade as well as providing support in creating conditions of policy that is conducive towards the conservation strategy of WWF-Indonesia. 

Requirements for this position :
  • Bachelor degree from Marine and/or Fisheries Science, Biology, or Environmental Study 
  • 2 years experiences in research, monitoring coastal and ocean research institutes, technical expertise in fisheries is preferable, and working with community, NGOs and the Government. 
  • Good Analytical skills (collecting data, research), Management skills, and also fisheries knowledge.
