The World Agroforestry Centre Vacancy: Land Governance And Community Management Researcher, Bogor

About our organization
The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.

The Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi, Kenya, and research is conducted in 34 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We are supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and receive funding from over 50 different donors.

About the position 
To analyze the interrelationships by various actors and interests (community, business and state) that determines the outcome of forest and community management (CBFM, KPH) toward low emission development/REDD+, KLHS.

Requirements 
  • Bachelor Degree preferably on forest management and rural development 
  • At least 5 (five) years of relevant experience 
  • Experience in working with not-for-profit organization, government institutions and business enterprise 
  • Research on forest management background will be an advantage
Personal Competencies
  • Good knowledge on forest management 
  • Good networking skills and knowledge on local and national NGO’s in Indonesia 
  • Excellence communications skills both in English and Bahasa Indonesia (reading, writing, verbal and presentation) 
  • Computer literate (on Window based-system including Excel and ACCESS) 
  • Good knowledge of negotiations 
  • Good understanding of time management 
  • Strong character, multitasking person and able to work under pressure 
  • Having vision to develop organization and intention to develop continuous improvement 
  • Having interest in receiving feedback  from others
Terms of offer
