AIP - EID Program of the Australian Government Vacancy: Translator / Interpreter, Jakarta

VACANCY FOR SHORTERM PROGRAM TRANSLATOR / INTERPRETER 

Applications are invited for the shorterm positions in the AIP-EID Program of the Australian Government. The positions are temporary for six (6) months starting January 2015 until 30 June 2015.

The duties of the position and qualifications are listed as following:

DUTY DESCRIPTION
  • Under the direction of the Program Operations Manager Technical, support  the  Australian Government funded Australia Indonesia Partnership for Emerging Infectious Diseases (AIP-EID) program implemented by DA as an interpreter/translator;
  • Provide detailed and high quality translation and interpreting services; Indonesian to English and vice versa, both written and oral;
  • Provide support to the Principal Veterinary Advisor (PVA) and Program Operations Manager Technical (POMT) as required;
  • Carry out other duties as required.
Qualifications and skills
  • TOEFL or IELTS accreditation;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken of both Indonesian and English,
  • Proven experience in the area of interpretation/translation both written and oral;
  • University graduate in language or a relevant subject;
  • Experience working within a capacity development setting preferred; possess an understanding of, and willingness to promote, cross-cutting issues such as gender and disability;
  • Technical knowledge of agriculture or animal health preferred;
