Organization:
Yayasan Literasi Anak Indonesia (YLAI) is an organization based in Bali that develops elementary school reading materials and training programs for distribution to schools all over Indonesia. The early reading program produced by YLAI provides a model for teaching literacy as a catalyst for change within the Indonesian education system. This successful model of teaching literacy uses interactive children’s literature and guided reading resources in Bahasa Indonesian to promote literacy development in national primary schools. YLAI supports the development of class and school libraries by producing a context-based reading series and relevant literature. The second priority is to provide in-service training for national teachers in using and adapting best practices in literacy to the local setting of Indonesian public schools. Starting in November 2014, YLAI will be working with the USAID PRIORITAS program to bring this early reading program to over 1,000 schools across the regions of Indonesia. USAID PRIORITAS is a five year USAID-funded project designed to improve access to quality education for children in Indonesia.

Position: Project Manager 
Based: Denpasar Bali 
Duties: The Project Manager will be in charge of carrying out and overseeing all activities implemented by YLAI under the USAID PRIORITAS partnership grant. These will include implementing workshops, distributing literacy materials as well as managing the budget, work-plan and tracking of the project grant. This manager will be the main point of contact and responsible for managing relationships with all activity participants and key stakeholders, including the USAID PRIORITAS team, book publishers, writers, illustrators, workshop participants and representatives from the government. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor degree or advances.
  • Having experience in USAID or other donor partnership grant contracts 
  • At least 4 years working in development area in Indonesia (6+ years and education sector preferred)
  • Knowledge of project financials
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Understanding of the education sector and other development stakeholders in Indonesia;
  • Good communication skill in English and Bahasa Indonesia
Position: Assistant to the Project Manager
Based : Denpasar, Bali

Duties: The assistant will provide logistical and administrative support to the Project Manager. The assistant will be particularly involved in the organization and implementation of 4-5 training and development workshops to be hosted in Bali and attended by stakeholders from around Indonesia. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree 
  • At least 1 year experience
  • Having experience in delivery, training and development workshop
  • Having experiences arranging travel and booking venues
  • Understand office administration (e.g. finance, office management, etc)
