Save the Children Vacancy: Information Technology Officer, Jakarta

Save the Children is an international NGO and the world’s top independent charity for children in need. Since 1919, we have been fighting for children’s rights, saving their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide.  In Indonesia, Save the Children currently works in eleven provinces, has staff of approximately 180 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.  Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title : Information Technology Officer
1 position, based in JAKARTA

Role purpose:
As the Country Office IT Officer, with supervision from IT Coordinator you will be driving business process improvements primarily in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of IT-related equipment and services within Save the Children offices in Country Office and Field Offices by performing various monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks on IT systems and maintaining contacts with 3rd party technology solution providers. You will engage closely with IT Coordinator, in Jakarta, in proposing solutions, driving implementation, changing and leading continuous improvement for within IT areas. You will provide first line of support to Jakarta Country office.

You will provide first and second line support to field office teams in building their capacity to support themselves.

You must be articulate and comfortable with a role covering a variety of field offices, whilst working closely with high-intellect stakeholders. To thrive in this role, you must be highly driven and a self-starter. Training and support will take place in a number of complex field offices that Save the Children operates in and you should be willing to travel to such locations.

Dimensions:  Jakarta Country Office with occasional support to 13 field offices with total 190 users.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Meet the servicing requirements of Members and their donors through first class customer service and collaborative working

Reporting, streamlining and analysis provision of the financial performance.
  • Provide 1st level support for IT infrastructure in the support ( including preventive maintenance,  server trouble shooting and communication lines ) and IT system support (including software installation, maintenance, IT administration) for SCI staff members in order to ensure IT infrastructures and system support in Country office are working properly and effectively including storage management on servers and network attached storage devices, maintaining data backup, data grooming, user accounts management, IT security, etc.
  • Prepare initial installation of user's desktop/notebook computers with standard configuration and software according to Save the Children's standard. Provide feedback to IT Coordinator on end user training materials to ensure that they continue to meet IT essential standard.
  • Provide effective support for all related users in SCI regarding IT related matters, in order to ensure the transfer of IT knowledge to all users (ie. provide IT related training) Maintain inventory and documentation of all IT equipment with relevant technical information.
  • Give technical review to procurement for provisions of minor peripheral devices and computer supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum D3 in IT or engineering or 3 years experience on managing IT Systems.
  • Experience in providing first-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Windows Server system with Active Directory environment
  • Experience working with basic networking products (Router, Firewall)
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets
  • Fluency in writing and speaking in English
  • Exposure to the non-profit sector and/or developing countries is preferred
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Experience in Application development desirable
