The Center for Public Policy Transformation (Transformasi)
The
Center for Public Policy Transformation is a new, non-profit
educational institution established to promote evidence-based policy
research and training in Indonesia. Transformasi will collaborate with
domestic and international partners to provide executive education
programs for government officials, to link training to practical policy
research and help domestic researchers and research institutions build
capacity for evidence-based research. Transformasi will invest
in communications and outreach to raise public awareness of policy
issues and link policymakers, researchers and the general public.
Starting in 2015, Transformasi will organize an executive training
program for regional leaders in three different themes: Urban
Management, Rural and Connectivity, and Marine and Fisheries.
Reporting
to the Program Director, the Marine and Fisheries Program Manager will
deliver capacity building initiatives in Marine and Fisheries to
increase the impact of the Center’s programs.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop training curricula in Marine and Fisheries for regional government and institution leaders, and deliver this material in training programs designed to increase the effectiveness of partner institutions
- Work with national and international partners to develop and implement the training programs in Marine and Fisheries
- Facilitate regional government leader initiatives on policy changes in Marine and Fisheries sector related programs
- Facilitate good partnership among the government, private sector and local communities to achieve sustainable fishery management and its value chain development
- Coordinate a small technical team and consultants to facilitate the policy changes in Marine and Fisheries in regional and national government institutions
- Collaborate with the Director and senior leadership to implement communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact
- Develop and publish a working paper series and other vehicles to promote the Center’s research products
- Bachelor or Master degree in Marine, Fisheries or related field
- Experience in Marine and Fisheries policy research and capacity building
- Experience in facilitating relation between intervention partners including national, provincial and local governments and private sector;
- Experience in field-based community livelihood development, preferably with a focus on economic development and poverty reduction in Marine and Fisheries;
- Experience in institutional development and training
- Strong management and team-building skills
- Networking with multi stakeholders
- English language proficiency is a must
- Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the Center’s mission of promoting policy research and education.
